This article explains how to clean under a bridge with special floss.
- A bridge is a false tooth joined to the teeth next to it.
- If you do not clean under it, food gets trapped and gums get sore. The bridge may fail.
- Ask your dental professional where your bridges are. Get the right products and use them often.
- Superfloss has 3 parts: a stiff end to push through, a soft fluffy part to clean under the false tooth, and a thin floss part.
Steps
- Find the bridge and the best place to put the floss under it.
- Push the stiff end under the bridge. Grab it on the other side.
- Rub the floss back and forth against the real tooth.
- Pull the fluffy part under the false tooth. It may feel a bit uncomfortable. Do not pull up hard, as this could loosen the bridge.
- Clean the real tooth at the other end of the bridge.
- Pull the floss out and throw it away.
