This article explains how to use a surround toothbrush.
- A surround toothbrush has bristles on 3 sides. It cleans the top and both sides of the teeth at once.
- It helps carers when it is hard to reach the teeth or the person does not cooperate.
- It comes in child and adult sizes. Choose by the size of the teeth.
Before first use
Bend the sides out a little, so the side bristles touch where the teeth meet the gums.
Steps
- Put a pea-sized amount of toothpaste in the middle of the brush.
- Move the brush back and forth over the teeth many times. Make sure the bristles touch the sides of the teeth.
- Do both sides of the top teeth and the bottom teeth.
- Spit out the extra toothpaste. Try not to rinse.
