Clean dentures are essential for a healthy mouth. Dirty dentures can accumulate harmful bacteria, viruses and fungi and are not a pleasant thing to live with. Dentures should be cleaned twice per day in the morning and at night.

Dr Mark’s HyGenie® is a clever device that makes it easier for people or their carers to clean full and partial dentures thoroughly while minimising the handling and reducing the risk of dropping them. For maximum performance, always read and follow the instructions supplied before using Dr Mark’s HyGenie.

  1. To open, hold the bottom handle (blue) and device body (clear) in one hand, and turn the top handle (white) in either direction until it clicks into place. Lift off the top.
  2. Place the dentures (with the teeth facing downwards) into the bottom brush.
  3. Line up the arrows found on the top handle and clear body, and gently press down until the handle ‘sits’ into place. Twist it in either direction until it ‘clicks & locks’ closed.
  4. Holding your HyGenie over a basin, squeeze 1 to 2 generous drops of Dr Mark’s DentalFresh® into the device through the perforations and apply a splash of water.
  5. Rotate the top and bottom handles in opposite directions, or alternate top and bottom washing by holding one handle in place and rotating the opposite handle. Wash for 30-45 seconds or until DentalFresh foam thoroughly covers your appliance.
  6. Rinse the HyGenie under gently running water, rotating the handles in opposite directions, until all DentalFresh foam is rinsed away, and water runs clear through the device. Now that your dental appliance is clean, fresh and ready, you can wear it or store it safely in Dr Mark’s HyGenie® until you need it next.

It is recommended to leave your dentures out while sleeping overnight. This will allow time for your gums to rest and breathe, and reduce the risk of fungal infections and sore spots.
