Sodium Bicarbonate mouth rinse / spray

Bicarbonate mouth rinses are effective in dry mouth and high acidic oral environment scenarios.

You can use a manufactured rinse, by taking about 30 mls ( 1-2 capfuls) and rinsing 3-4 times a day for about 30 seconds. Spit, don’t swallow.

Or you can make your own!

While your mouth is very sensitive during situations such as cancer treatment, or extreme dry mouth make a mouthwash by dissolving 1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt in 1 cup of warm water. After treatment is over, increase this to 1/2 teaspoon. Swish it around your mouth for around, spit it out and then rinse your mouth with plain water. It is important to take care of your mouth during and after treatment for cancer, or other situations which pose a similar risk to dry mouth or acidity.
