This article explains how to use floss holders (also called flossers or flossettes).
- Normal floss can be hard to use. Floss holders are easier and can be used with one hand.
- Cleaning between teeth removes food and plaque (germs). This stops bad breath, decay and gum disease.
- Floss holders make more plastic waste. Normal floss can be faster once you learn it.
Steps
- Hold the floss holder firmly between your thumb and pointer finger.
- Gently move it back and forth to slide the floss between two teeth.
- Move it up and down against each tooth, just under the gum.
- Do this for every gap, and behind the last back tooth.
- Throw it away after use, or when the floss frays.
Floss every day.
